Antioxidants – your inner bodyguards (with style).

A white cup filled with blueberries

Antioxidants.

The word sounds complicated,

but actually they are just little superheroes,

that run around in your body and clean up.

What are they doing?

They heroically throw themselves between your cells

and the nasty free radicals –

these aggressive molecules,

that occur when you breathe, exercise,

frying in the sun or just living.

Without antioxidants?

Chaos, cell damage, premature aging,

Body in “oh no” mode.

With antioxidants?

Shield on, risk down,

Heart, skin, brain say thank you.

Where do you get the heroes from?

Vitamin C – in citrus fruits, peppers, broccoli

Vitamin E – in nuts, avocado, oils

Beta-carotene – in carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach

Selenium – in Brazil nuts, fish, eggs

Zinc – in legumes, whole grains, nuts

Polyphenols – in berries, green tea, dark chocolate (yes, please!)

Particularly rich in antioxidants:

– Blueberries, raspberries, pomegranates

– Green tea, matcha, black tea

– Dark chocolate (from 70% cocoa, because we are not snacking here, but healing)

– Tomatoes (cooked – lycopene says hello)

– Red wine (in moderation, folks, in moderation)

– Turmeric, rosemary, oregano

– Walnuts, chia seeds, flax seeds

Do you need nutritional supplements?

Mostly not.

If you eat colorfully,

you have everything you need.

Nature really packs it all together –

not in pills, but in food.

Too much artificial help?

Can even be harmful.

So stay away from the superhero capsule overkill.

Conclusion?

Antioxidants are like little bodyguards

in your body.

They keep you fresh, protect you from damage

and say:

“All right, we got this.”

Eat colorfully.

Eat mindfully.

And let nature help you,

to keep your inner team strong.
