Hand on heart:
“Basic” sounds like something from chemistry class,
that has been successfully repressed.
But hold on tight: This is not about taste,
but about what your food does to your body.
What does “alkaline” mean?
It doesn't say, "Tastes like soap."
It is said: Your food keeps your body happy,
because it doesn't leave any acidic drama residue.
You can eat vegetables,
or nonstop coffee, meat and sugar –
and guess what?
Your body notices the difference.
The pH value of your blood remains (fortunately!) stable,
but the fabric around it?
It will be happy if you send it a little alkaline love.
Why are alkaline foods so good?
Because they support your body,
as you stumble through life.
They provide vitamins, minerals, antioxidants,
boost your digestion,
flatter your immune system,
and bring you balance,
even if everyday life currently tastes rather “sour”.
What exactly does it achieve?
– More energy, less “I want to go back to bed” feeling
– Less inflammation in the body
– Skin that says: Thank you, finally some peace!
– Happy bones because mineral supply is running
– Less heartburn and digestive drama
Alkaline heroines on your plate:
Vegetables:
Spinach, kale, broccoli, cucumbers, zucchini, celery, asparagus, parsley, avocado, seaweed, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, beetroot, fennel, artichokes, eggplant
Fruit:
Lemons, oranges, grapefruits, ripe bananas, apples, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, melons, mango, papaya, grapes, kiwis
Legumes:
Mung beans, lentils (a little!), chickpeas (slightly alkaline, sometimes neutral)
Nuts & Seeds:
Almonds (superheroic!), chia, hemp, sesame, flaxseed
Herbs & Spices:
Turmeric, ginger, basil, parsley, coriander, oregano
Drinks:
Still water, herbal teas, lemon water (yes, even if it tastes sour)
And the sour things?
No panic.
Meat, dairy products, fish, eggs, white flour, sugar, coffee, alcohol –
Everything's okay if you don't overdo it.
The secret is balance.
If you let it rip,
Then just add a little alkaline balance on top.
Conclusion (aka Kitty’s advice of the day):
Alkaline foods are like good friends:
They balance things out when the rest of your life is in chaos.
They make colorful, fresh, delicious,
and help you feel good from the inside.
So: more vegetables, more fruit, more balance.
Your body will thank you.
And don’t worry:
You don't have to become a green tea guru right away.
Even small steps bring you closer to the “I feel better” feeling.
